Two meter houseplant

This two-meter houseplant has emerged from winter hibernation and is waking up. It seems to be doing well in the living room. It's not quite in bloom because it is not yet antenna season.

Or they were bought by someone who then discovered they were practically useless, & stashed them in a drawer.
Or you're in an area where everyone who might have used FRS is just using a smartphone app.

Well, it won't pick up *my* FRS radios. Even when I programmed in the frequencies.

My best guess is that the scanner expects AM on those frequencies and FRS uses FM...

Hmm. I'd expect to hear something from the carrier switching on & off, even if it's not demodulating.
